Armor of God pt1
You can't fight without armor...
"Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness." (Ephesians 6:14)
Belt of Truth.
It's mentioned first. Why is that?
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)
Truth holds all things together... (Col. 1:15-20)
If you don't start from truth you won't finish where you should be...and the journey might be longer than necessary.
"In referring to the whole armor of God, Paul invokes the image of a soldier ready for battle. The belt of a Roman soldier in Paul’s day was not a simple leather strap such as we wear today. It was a thick, heavy leather and metal band with a protective piece hanging down from the front of it. The belt held the soldier’s sword and other weapons.
