Teaching on Spirits: Day 26

Armor of God pt 3

(Readiness) Gospel of peace.

Get ready...Get ready...Get ready...

"The word readiness implies constant vigilance. A victorious soldier had to be prepared for battle. He had to have studied his enemy’s strategy, be confident in his own strategy, and have his feet firmly planted so that he could hold his ground when the attacks came. A soldier’s battle shoes were studded with nails or spikes, like cleats, to help him keep his balance in combat. He knew that, if he lost his footing and went down, it wouldn’t matter how great the rest of his armor was; the enemy had him." (Gotquestions)

Imagine fighting on a hillside and often in spiritual warfare it feels like it is an uphill battle. You need to be able to stand steady and progress forward even in terrain that is not best suited for you, BUT when you are suited for any terrain and have the proper equipment, you will always be at an advantage.

We must remember to let peace rule our hearts (and minds)...
(Col. 3:15-17)

"13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" (Ephesians 6:13-15)
